FAQs

Q?

Do you have gift vouchers?

A.

Yes. Gift vouchers are a popular choice when you need a gift for someone who’s hard to buy for. To purchase a voucher or find out more, head to the Gift Voucher page.

Q?

Can I customise the packages if I want something different?

A.

Absolutely. The packages reflect what most of my clients need, but the options are flexible. Give me a call so we can chat about what you’re after and work out the best solution.

Q?

Do you do plus-size styling?

A.

Yes! I love styling women of all shapes and sizes.

Q?

Are you professionally trained?

A.

Yes. I’ve always loved clothes, but when I started B styles U I wanted to formalise my qualifications. I completed the Smitten with Style personal stylist training in 2011 and a course on Advanced Personal Stylist Training in 2012.

Q?

Can you shop for me without me being there?

A.

Since no two people are the same when it comes to how clothes fit, you’ll need to be there so we can see how things look on you, rather than on the hanger.

If you usually don’t like shopping, rest assured I’ll be doing all the hard work! You can simply come along, have a coffee and enjoy the process.

Q?

Do you style all ages?

A.

Yes, absolutely! No one is too old or too young to benefit from style advice.

Q?

Do I have to buy clothes on the day?

A.

This just depends on the amount you want to spend. I’ll work to find items within your budget that offer the biggest impact on your wardrobe for the money you’re able to spend. Broke women love fashion too!

Q?

Do you get a commission from retailers?

A.

No. I’m totally independent, which means we can shop wherever the best options are for you.

Q?

What if I need to reschedule?

A.

If something comes up and you can no longer make our session together, you can give me a call to reschedule. I ask for 12 hours’ notice, so there's time to adjust my calendar.

Q?

How should I pay?

A.

You can pay by direct debit, and the payment should be made before our appointment. I’m not able to accept credit card payments, sorry.

Q?

What if your style is different to mine?

A.

No problem! Style is very personal, so we’ll almost certainly have different tastes. As a professional stylist, my job is to help you find clothes that you love and that suit you, not to dress you in items I’d wear myself.

Q?

Will you throw away all my clothes? What if I want to keep something but you think I should get rid of it?

A.

I’ll offer advice and make suggestions to guide you, but there’s no obligation to get rid of anything you don’t want to.

To help us make the most of our time together, I’ll ask you to pick out up to 20 pieces that you’re not sure about, so we can work through them. They might be items you’ve hardly worn, or things you used to love but that no longer suit your lifestyle. For each, I’ll look at how it might be reworked or worn in a way that works for you, or I might suggest it’s time to replace it with a better option.

Q?

Do I have to strip off during the wardrobe detox?

A.

You’ll be trying on clothes from your wardrobe, but I can always step out of the room while you do this. I’m interested in the clothes and whether they work for you – I’m not there to assess your body!

To make it easier to try on clothes, I suggest wearing separates (a top and a bottom) to avoid having to continually dress and undress.
